Tactical Design and Research Bureau MK-12, out of Kansas City, have found an old PSA reel and restored it. It tells of the war of the machines on humans and how it all started with some very simple voice recognition programs which quickly escalated into sentient AI and then nuclear war. Or something. It’s fucking awesome is all I know. I love mash-up/remix art. See it after the jump.
On the website they made for the project they have a cheeky PDF that details some of the background of the project (and also has a free font!).
In addition to creating title sequences for movies like The Kite Runner (gorgeous) and Quantum of Solace (awesome) and making videos for one of my favorite bands (The Faint), they also do cool shorts like this (the following is a teaser for their short film):
PS: I learned about “Telephoneme” from Tyler Stout’s website. If you don’t know who he is, you should. He makes awesome movie posters for festivals and tributes.

Wow. This is beautiful. Now if they could write like they can design and animate…
this kinda just blew my mind. awesome stuff
I should mention, for those of you who don’t have time to read their PDF, that the inspiration and audio portion are taken from a 60′s PSA called “The Alphabet Conspiracy.” I read my post and realized it might be confusing as to why I called it a mash-up. It’s more of a remix I guess, anyway.
