Here’s what I think of Facebook App Socialcam (and apps like it):
(click for slightly-easier-to-read version)
These Facebook leeches that force you to install their app to view content are total scams. People need to stop using them. It’s ridiculous. You see one video on a friend’s timeline that’s like “Acrobat Lands on Boner” and out of sheer curiosity you agree to install Socialcam (or one of the many apps like it), and watch this video that isn’t even that good, but by then everyone that you’re friends with sees that you watched “Acrobat Lands on Boner” and they assume it must be worth watching and this horrible cycle builds up. Of that “59 million people” that use Socialcam I wonder how many even like it or realize it’s installed.
Stop the cycle! Don’t install these apps! If you like a video, share it on your timeline. Don’t be lazy. Even the ones that let you view the content after hitting “Cancel” (not like they tell you that will work) are super annoying. Enough. Just stop. Facebook is annoying enough already. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go post about how McDonald’s hamburgers don’t mold due to pink goo meat substitute because Microsoft will donate 25 cents to a little girl’s cancer treatment for each person that posts it on Facebook.
Commiserate in the comments section below. Oh, and speaking of annoying your friends on Facebook, can you like this and/or share? I need the attention.
